We’re looking for a UX Engineer II —someone who builds as a way of thinking; someone who sketching ideas in code, explores novel interaction paradigms, and collaborates deeply with other UX professionals, engineers, and product managers. By combining craft, curiosity, and technical precision, you’ll help bring to life the future of secure, AI-powered experiences at Microsoft.

You’ll bring that soul—bridging design and engineering to craft experiences that are not only functional, but meaningful. You’ll help us move fast, innovate boldly, and build with purpose.
Responsibilities
+ Shape the frontier: Prototype and define new interaction patterns for agentic experiences.
+ Design in code: Create functional prototypes and experimental interfaces that demonstrate the potential of AI-native experiences.
+ Bridge design and engineering: Collaborate closely with product management and engineering to translate Figma concepts into performant, scalable solutions while ensuring seamless, high-quality implementation.
+ Simplify the complex: Turn advanced AI capabilities into clear, intuitive workflows that make our users feel empowered. And not overwhelmed.
+ Elevate craft: Champion design excellence through systems thinking, interaction detail, and thoughtful use of emerging frameworks.
+ Prototype responsibly: Move fast to explore new ideas while grounding every experiment in trust, privacy, and long-term value.
+ Stay curious: Continuously explore new AI and agentic paradigms, frameworks, and prototyping tools to keep Security UX at the forefront of the GenAI revolution.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Design, Graphic Design, or related field AND 2+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
+ OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 5+ years hands-on experience creating detailed wireframes (both low and high fidelity), polished design prototypes and other design artifacts in a fast-paced, cutting-edge technology environment
+ Capable of working through ambiguity, design tradeoffs and shifting priorities.
+ Creative and holistic problem solver with a sharp eye for details.
+ Creating and applying established design principles and interaction patterns. Experience using design components and pattern libraries.
+ Demonstrated breadth across interaction design, information architecture, usability
+ Effective interpersonal communication and storytelling skills
+ Awareness of inclusive design and how it supports Microsoft’s mission.
+ Experience within the Security domain.
+ Experience designing for Artificial Intelligence.
+ Understanding of Large Language Model (LLM).
UX Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
