Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides assessment and treatment of patients in collaboration with the physician in their specialty area.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Collaborates with members of the healthcare team to coordinate, implement and evaluate patient care (25%).

+ Evaluates medical health and developmental history of the patient by performing basic physical assessment using observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation, and percussion (25%).

+ Discriminates between normal, normal variation, and abnormal deviations by specific screening tests and refers patient with abnormal finding to appropriate members of the primary healthcare team (25%).

+ Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances, administers medication and injections, sutures wounds and provides wound care. (15%)

+ Educates patients and family members regarding health and preventive medicine, medications prescribed, treatment instructions and recommends community resources as appropriate. (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

+ Bachelor's degree and approved Master's or post masters nurse practitioner program.

+ Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)

+ Prescriptive Authority within 60 days of hire. Incumbents in role as of November 1, 2022 have until November 1, 2023 to obtain

+ CPR – American Heart Association​

+ Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

+ Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

+ Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

+ Prior experience in area of specialty.
