    Position Summary

    Responsible for designing and maintaining data reports and data infrastructure for the department. This role helps build and maintain reporting infrastructure with Epic and Allscripts SCM data, works closely with clinical and analytics leadership to create data reports for clinical, business and research needs, and takes on unique reporting projects in healthcare operations and research to improve patient care.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Works with departmental leaders to identify ED reporting needs and discuss data reports.

    + Attends meetings as needed/requested to plan/review/present data reports; documents/tracks reporting requests, data requirements and resources; designs/maintains analytics processes to support reporting.

    + Uses SQL data warehouse queries, business intelligence software and/or other analytics tools/products to design/maintain reports; writes queries to extract data; creates dynamic automated scripts that aggregate data; creates interactive dashboards.

    + Collaborates with other reporting analysts to maintain reports, ensuring they are up-to-date, accurate, and fair representations of ED performance.

    + Maintains all reports and ensures that they are up-to-date, accurate, and fair representations.

    + Monitors system performance and response times.

    + Rapidly identifies and proactively troubleshoots data performance issues and reporting errors.

    + Streamlines and automates data analytics processes wherever possible to maximize efficiency.

    + Provides programming and/or analytical support for relevant departmental system, subsystems, and related software products, in support of the department’s clinical and operational need.

    + As needed, creates or modifies change management procedures as per departmental standards.

    + Develops, tests and implements enhancements to existing data systems, support scripts, or other improvements to the interface engine environment.

    Education

    + Bachelor's Degree in related field

    Experience

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline. Advanced degree is preferred.

     

    At least 4 years of experience as a Reporting Analyst, Consultant or Associate using EPIC.

     

    At least 4 years of experience in a clinical setting, or experience with healthcare administration, data analysis and healthcare operations best practices.

     

    Prior experience working with project managers, clinical leaders, and other data analysts to achieve deliverables in accordance with project schedule.

     

    Prior experience with ALLSCRIPTS/SCM preferred. While most data analysis and reporting will occur using EPIC data, some will use legacy data through ALLSCRIPTS/SCM. While EPIC proficiency is a minimum requirement, incumbent will be trained in legacy system proficiency as needed.

     

    EPIC Certification (Clinical Data Model).

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + High proficiency in database management and querying languages (Transact-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle).

    + High proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, and/or Looker).

    + Proficiency in Python programming to create loops, error handling, data analysis, and automated emails.

    + Proficiency in biostatistics and programming in Stata, R, SAS or SPSS desired.

    + High technical proficiency in data analytics and visualization.

    + Highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

    + Excellent time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines and manage changing priorities.

    + Ability to troubleshoot programming issues independently.

    Licenses and Certifications

    + Epic Certification (Clinical Data Model).
