Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
Join our team as a Material Handler and Forklift Operator, a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. You will work Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 2:30 pm, with mandatory overtime as needed. In this role, you will coordinate the loading and unloading of materials and finished products with shipping and receiving departments. You will operate heavy machinery to move materials safely and efficiently across the work site.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate outgoing loads with the Shipping and Purchasing Departments.
+ Coordinate the unloading of inbound freight with the Planning and Receiving Department.
+ Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
+ Perform regular maintenance such as lubricating trucks, recharging batteries, filling fuel tanks, or replacing liquefied gas tanks.
+ Maintain warehouse and storage area part location integrity.
+ Ensure all boxes, crates, and pallets are labeled with part numbers or SO numbers.
+ Support all departments with material handling.
+ Communicate with staff about part delivery to specific areas.
+ Move non-conforming parts to the MRB quarantine area.
+ Dispose of scrap weekly after MRB disposition is determined.
+ Drive industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices to move products, equipment, or materials.
+ Operate controls to drive trucks and manage movement of lifting apparatus.
+ Position lifting devices to transport loads to designated areas.
+ Load, unload, and stack materials using lifting devices.
+ Adhere to established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
+ Update job knowledge continuously.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in forklift operation.
+ Experience in material handling and inventory management.
+ Strong skills in unloading and shipping and receiving processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
+ Forklift Certification.
+ Ability to perform filing and record-keeping tasks.
+ Capability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
+ Organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.

Work Environment
This role is within an industrial setting, manufacturing switches for power lines. The environment is dirty and varies in temperature with the weather. You will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and occasionally fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually loud. Appropriate attire is necessary: warm clothing in winter and cooler clothing in summer. Candidates with a experience in shop environments are ideal.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
