The Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration
The Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers’ compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. We do not process individual workers' compensation claims or issue benefit payments
The Workers’ Compensation Medical Service Analyst is responsible for handling the scheduling of all IME requests made under La. R.S. 23:1123. Pre-litigation medical exams are scheduled with neutral physicians to determine the medical condition or work capacity when two opposing physicians disagree. A network of IME physicians across multiple specialities and geographic locations must be maintained and coordinated for court-ordered IMEs under La. R.S. 23:1124. 1.

Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in worker's compensation; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus two years of experience in worker's compensation; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in worker's compensation.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
•Coordinate billing and missing medical record issues between parties and physicians.
•Collaborate with the assigned RN on case notifications, phone calls, and scheduling changes.
•Confer with physicians, attorneys, carrier, claimants, employers, and judges to obtain required documentation for scheduling medical appointments.
•Coordinate with physicians’ offices, carriers, and the attorney to confirm attendance.
•Maintain data points to monitor trends, goal achievement, and statutory compliance.
