    LSU Shreveport is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position ofMaintenance Repairer Masterin the Facility Servicesdepartment. This role is responsible for performing advanced, skilled maintenance and repair work across multiple trades to ensure campus facilities and systems operate safely and efficiently. We are looking for a highly skilled, dependable professional with strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and well-functioning campus environment.

    AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

    Minimum Qualifications

    One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:

    Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR

     

    Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR

     

    Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Troubleshoots and repairs the campus wide water system including circulation pumps, hot water heaters, toilets, urinals, sinks, water foundations, irrigation systems and drain lines. Troubleshoots and determines the cause of equipment breakdowns and extent of repairs needed.

    + Oversees work assigned to personnel working in the shop maintenance area. Example: Provides guidance, supplies and leadership by setting the pace for assigned projects, in order to meet deadlines.

    + Developing braces or brackets has needed by machining or welding parts that are used for installation of fans, pumps, or other equipment. Example: rebuilding and re-piping a circulation pump that is used for an Olympic size swimming pool.

    + Works with contractual employees such as plumbers or roofers to inspect and approve work provided by contractors. Surveys the work being performed to ensure that sufficient and proper materials are available for completion of work. Examples: Plumbers, Roofers, Glass Installers or Locksmiths.
