We are currently seeking a Full-Time Adult Home Administrator to join our team in Bayport, NY. This leadership role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, organized, and committed to empowering others.
What You'll Do
As the Administrator, you will:
+ Provide overall leadership and day-to-day supervision of the Adult Home, ensuring smooth operations, safety and well-being of all residents, using a person-centered approach
+ Ensure that the Adult Home complies with all DOH and applicable regulations
+ Recruitment and general supervision of staff and volunteers at Adult Home, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment and ensuring staff and volunteers are engaged, well trained and aligned with Mercy Haven's mission
+ Serve as Case Manager, conducting assessments, developing personalized care plans, and monitoring resident progress.
+ Act as Activities Director, organizing recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that enhance residents' quality of life.
+ Manage the resident intake process, ensuring thorough assessments and appropriate placements.
+ Facilitate resident transfers and discharges in accordance with established policies, coordinating with healthcare providers and families as needed.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of resident transitions and provide support to ensure continuity of care.
+ Build relationships with community organizations, agencies, and service providers to offer additional resources and services to residents.
+ Plan and implement community-based programs that promote social interaction and support for residents' needs.
+ Serve as the primary representative of the Adult Home to the broader community, ensuring a positive public image and fostering partnerships that benefit residents.
+ Engage with families, community members, and other stakeholders, addressing concerns and encouraging feedback to improve services.
+ Ensure the protection of resident rights, including privacy, dignity, and autonomy.
+ Develop and implement policies and procedures that safeguard residents from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
+ Act as an advocate for residents, ensuring they have access to resources and are empowered to make decisions about their care.
+ Establish and maintain a transparent and accessible system for residents to present grievances, complaints, or recommendations about facility operations.
+ Respond promptly to resident concerns, implementing solutions that reflect respect for their voice and preferences.
+ Ensure staff and volunteers receive regular training in emergency procedures, including responding to medical emergencies, fires, and natural disasters
+ Complete all necessary trainings and inservices, with minimum of 30 hours of training per year
+ Maintain Food Manager Course Certification
+ All other relevant duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
+ Associate's degree in human services related field required
+ 3 years' experience working with individuals in human services field
+ 3 years supervisory experience in human services related field
+ Physical Requirements: Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours, may push or pull 10-15 pounds daily, may push or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
+ A valid NYS Driver's License in good standing
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, with on-call coverage.
Reports to: Associate Director of Congregate Care
Supervises: Adult Home Assistant Administrator and Adult Home Care Aides
