Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech Trainee is responsible for participating in a 12-week didactic training program. Following completion, the incumbent is responsible for participating in a 400-hour clinical experience. Under the supervision of a certified Sterile Processing Tech, the trainee performs selected duties including transportation, cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of instruments and equipment for the operating room and other clinical areas. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job.
Responsibilities:
+ Attend and complete all required online coursework and assignments.
+ Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical devices.
+ Learn to operate washers, sterilizers, and instrument tracking systems.
+ Follow strict safety and infection prevention protocols.
+ Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for compliance and tracking.
+ Participate in team meetings and learning assessments as required.
+ Other duties.
