    Hours: 54 hours/week, Mon.-Sat. 9 hours/day, 7:00 A.M. - 5:00 A.M. Work hours may vary due to crop conditions, weather, or other operational factors. Evening and/or night hours may be required.

    Job duties may include assisting with daily farm operations, including but not limited to operating a variety of farm equipment used for planting, spraying, cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting crops. Workers will load and unload trucks and may be required to climb ladders, grain bins, and other farm structures.

     

    Workers will perform routine maintenance and servicing of machinery, including changing fluids, rotating tires, cleaning grain bins, washing vehicles, changing brakes, checking tire pressure, and performing general mechanical upkeep. Ground and facility maintenance duties include mowing, weed trimming, maintaining farm and/or housing areas, and cleaning and organizing shop workspaces.

     

    The position involves manual labor requiring lifting, carrying, bending, and working long hours in both hot and cold weather conditions. On rainy or inclement weather days, workers will typically perform equipment repairs, maintenance, and preparation for upcoming workdays in the shop.

     

    Additional duties include hog loading, marking, and sorting, as well as other miscellaneous tasks as assigned. This position also includes other related Agricultural Equipment Operator activities consistent with SOC/OES Code 45-2091 (as defined by O*NET Online).

     

    Crops Produced: corn, soybeans, peas, sweet corn.

     

    All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified.

     

    Worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions.

    No High School Diploma or GED required.

    Worker must be 18 years of age.

     

    Worker must be able to speak and understand English.

     

    Worker must be able to obtain a valid U.S. Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work and possess/maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

     

    Static strength is required to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

     

    Worker must be able to perform work that requires exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions, extensive pushing or pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements.

    EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

     

    Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
