General Summary
Responsible to participate and analyze complex business processes as it relates to the operation of medical laboratories.
Will participate in the development of workflows, data collection and analysis, and other technical issues associated with the use of the laboratory software and supporting hardware.
Will participate in developing and documenting the standard build procedures that will be used in conjunction with other enterprise applications.
Will formulate and define the objectives and scope of business systems and administer and configure business systems related to laboratory services.
Will research, configure, modify and implement enterprise business system software and manage software version releases.
Responsible for collaborating with ITS staff, management and business stakeholders as requested, needed, and/or directed.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (including donors) through established feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.
It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 21 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Tasks
Review, analyze, and evaluate application technologies to meet business stakeholder needs.
Participate in the documentation of requirements, scope and objectives, and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
Identify software application problems by conferring with clients; evaluating procedures and processes.
Make recommendation and act IAW company procedures to resolve software and hardware problems.
Perform technical efforts to mock-up solutions as part of solution recommendation efforts.
Work closely with Requirements Analysts and Project Management Office on assigned projects.
Ensure software operation by providing support and assisting with the training of team members and client personnel.
Conduct information technology validations on software applications prior to production release.
Act as a liaison between various business units to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate business requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and business systems.
Write instructions and/or guidelines on business systems usage and best practices, including Standard Operating Procedures, application administration, and supporting technical documentation.
Interact with software, hardware, and/or professional services vendors.
Maintain application environments for all laboratory applications to ensure high availability.
Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of the following:
+ Laboratory Systems, Equipment, Instrumentation and technology
+ Laboratory capabilities and capacity
+ Basic regulatory programs and client specific needs relative to assigned analyses
Performs other duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Tasks
May perform duties as designated by management team as needed or in the event of his/her absence.
Education
Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university OR five years related experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.
The preferred major is Information Systems, Medical Technology, or Computer Science
Licenses and/or Certifications
Texas Operators Driver’s License
Experience
Requires two or more years of laboratory operations experience.
Requires two years software development and software configuration experience.
Requires two years’ experience in creating technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Requires experience working with Windows server and desktop operating systems.
Requires experience administering Laboratory Systems; to include, user interface development, workflow process development, and application integrations.
Strongly prefer direct experience in administering a Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Knowledge
Knowledge of information technology service management concepts and methodologies, business process analysis and reengineering, and project management processes and methodologies.
Must have knowledge of system design and development processes and methodologies such as the SDLC.
Skills
Must be able to facilitate department project meetings and communicate effectively with internal customers throughout the organization.
Must be able to effectively work with individuals at all position levels in the organization to identify, understand and communicate their business requirements.
Must have excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Must possess strong organizational, customer service, and troubleshooting skills. Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.

Must be a self-starter and self-directed worker.
Must be able to keep information confidential.
Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.
Must be professional, detail oriented, self-motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently.
Working Environment
Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated office.
May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment.
May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend.
Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization.
Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.
Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range.
Required to lift and carry relatively light materials.
