Duties
This position will be home based at an assigned location but will require heavy travel to temporary work locations throughout the defined regional area.
The primary functions of the Regional Electrician will be maintenance work and periodic checking of general operating conditions of electrical equipment. May be required to support TVA generation construction projects as well as general generation maintenance work.
A minor portion of time will be spent with general maintenance and emergency repairs to all main and auxiliary electrical equipment at the assigned home location and other assigned generation assets. This includes but is not limited to, the main generators and exciters, motors, motor controls, station lighting, cranes, batteries, air-conditioning equipment, and other pertinent equipment pertaining to the plant, associated buildings including administrative buildings on TVA’s property. This work will consist of the dismantling and assembling of electrical equipment, the renewal of parts, and the adjustment of associated electrical components.
May be assigned and will perform other work they are certified/qualified to perform.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent and five years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and plant equipment are desired.
Must have completed a DOL-certified electrician or TVA-certified electrician training program. Must maintain TVA-required classroom or computer-based electrical training and certifications.
May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position/essential job functions, as well as home site access requirements.
Supervision Received
The incumbent will be under the direction of a regional crew or site foreman, and the indirect supervision by the regional crew or site first-line supervisor at the home location or in the field.
This may differ depending on the project scope.
