Job description
Job Summary
The Master Planner is a key contributor to the effective operation of the MRO repair station. The Master Planner is responsible for preparing and managing maintenance schedules that support efficient and reliable repair and overhaul activities. This role requires a strategic focus on resource allocation and supply chain coordination to achieve turnaround time (TAT) objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
• Analyze work in progress to ensure alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.
• Analyze all requirements both internal and external.
• Set daily priorities for all support groups. Ensure proper levels of support/delivery of AOG/MEL/Customer Expedites.
• Review production schedules to ensure alignment with customer requirements and company objectives (TAT/SPT & Revenue). Analyze available capacity and recommend solutions.
• Daily review of units to ensure SPT can be met, or alternate solutions are realized.
• Work closely with all support groups to eliminate or reduce constraints to maximize production processes.
• Chair weekly priorities meetings as needed to align support groups with production goals and problem resolution.
• Support weekly reporting of shortage levels, status of top shortages with action plans, and LRU pool delta with action plans for programs support production meeting.
• Daily monitoring & analysis of Late Delivery Root Cause steps for orders exceeding contractual TAT.
• Monitor supply chain queue for all blocked notifications.
• Provide Customer Support team with status and estimated date of delivery for units in work in progress.
• Provide EDD's and status to Customer Service Support team.
• Correct EDD's with initial commitment date is past due and provide explanation of delay
• Monitor inventory levels.
• Manage LRU exchange pool and prepare purchasing requests for procurement team.
• Determine and maintain SRU/piece part inventory levels.
• Create and monitor piece part consumption (Consumption increase, consumption decrease, gap between historical and Bill of Repair K%).
• Evaluate inventory for excess and obsolete material. Then, provide disposition of scrap, sell or keep based on that decision.
• Manage cannibalization requests to fill shortages/pool and ensure that the process is performed by the shop in a timely manner.
• Create weekly purchase order requests for all parts that require replenishment.
• Review part shortages daily/weekly. Ensure critical shortages are highlighted to purchasing and request information which can be passed on to the customer. Investigate and propose solutions for critical shortages through supplier ERP, if available.
• Provide weekly shortage reports to supply chain manager.
• Validate all new part creation requests, ensuring that the part has the necessary fields completed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Master Planner:
• Perform document analysis (CMM, SB and OM) to identify changes in the illustrated parts list (New parts, new kit, parts deleted, part superseded).
• Create or modify parts in SAP, based on changes identified in the document analysis.
• Setup Bill of Repair (K%) with support of engineering team to anticipate new, increase or decrease of consumption.
• Travel Specificity
Potential travel between Grand Prairie, Texas and other locations is limited.
• Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office and laboratory. Constantly operates and use a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier/printer and laboratory machinery. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds across office for various needs.
• Work Environment
The work environment is office & shop work, with most work being performed in the office. Noise level in the office is typically quiet while the noise level in the shop can occasionally require hearing protection.
• Experience in relevant Business sector
Experience within Part 145 aerospace industry is a plus but not required.
Candidate skills & requirements
Required Competencies:
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or a minimum of four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in master scheduling, development of production plans, material requirements planning (MRP), and capacity analysis.
Experience:
1 to 3 years total experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or logistics, preferably within an MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul), aerospace, or industrial environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Advanced computer/software skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel-including advanced Excel functionality such as pivot tables, Access, PowerBI) and SAP.
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean and Kaizen methods is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve stretch goals quickly, while possessing strong people skills
• Knowledge of economic principles and impact on Safran's Business
• Understanding of production control practices
• Knowledge of planning and forecasting techniques
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and understanding of Quality requirements
• Experience applying Lean and Continuous Improvement ideas
• Proven expertise at achieving and sustaining supplier OTD
