    As a **Feature Assurance Engineer** within the **FAST (Feature Assurance and Systems Troubleshooting)** organization you will be responsible for ensuring that all enclosure domain features, across all Ford and Lincoln programs, launch with perfection. You will review feature designs, requirements, develop test plans, execute “negative” testing, work closely with the feature systems engineering team, test execution teams, quality and triage teams.

     

    What you'll do...

     

    + **Product ownership:** Responsible for the launch of enclosure electro-mechanical features including the 3-WaySplit Gate, Power Tailgate and Multi-Access Tailgate feature, ensuring partner teams create robust architecture designs, boundary diagrams, design requirements, and DFMEAs, integrating hardware and software solutions together to a product on a program.

    + **Cross-functional collaboration:** Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including product/program management, validation and verification, software & hardware design, integration, quality, architecture, functional safety, and cyber security) to drive execution to program timelines.Collaborate closely with test engineers to verify and validate the feature within the system. This includes developing test plans, test procedures, and requirement verification plans.

    + **Triage and troubleshooting:** Provide technical guidance and expertise in the enclosure’s domain.Apply a cross-functional vehicle and system-level mindset to understand and help troubleshoot end-to-end feature operation.

    + **Quality assurance & risk management:** Drive warranty and other launch feedback into execution and partnered feature design teams.Ensure the highest standards of design excellence, quality, and reliability through evaluative testing and reviewing verification feature results.Identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges associated with features, proactively addressing issues to ensure successful delivery.

    + **Continuous improvement & communication:** Continuously evaluate the features’ performance and implement improvements to enhance functionality and efficiency.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize feature development and deployment processes, tools, and methodologies, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders, providing regular updates and insights.

    + **Requirements Definition and Analysis:** Review and analyzing complex cross-functional systems and innovative solutions.Understand customer needs and the essential functionality of the feature in the early stages of its development cycle.Monitor, organize, and manage tasks related to the feature throughout its project lifecycle.

     

    You'll have...

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

    + 3+ years of experience in electromechanical (mechatronics) features, electrical systems and or functional knowledge in electrical module design, vehicle networking, electrical distribution system, mechanical systems, and vehicle diagnostics.

    + 3+ years of experience leading cross functional collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication is paramount for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex ideas, identifying conflict and resolving issues proactively.

    + 3+ years of experience using problem-solving and analytical skills: Experience with quality tools and methodology such as: 8D, PDCA, 3L5W including the ability to conduct detailed technical analysis, troubleshoot complex system issues, and develop creative solutions is a core requirement.

    + 2+ years of experience using CAN diagnostic and simulation tools.

    + 2+ years of project management skills: The ability to plan, implement, and oversee projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

    + 2+ years of electrical testing: Hands-on experience with various electrical testing methodologies, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques. This includes functional testing, validation testing, diagnostic testing, and performance analysis of electrical systems and components.

    + Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

    + 1+ years of quality engineering documentation: Applying engineering principles and methodologies to establish, implement, and uphold quality standards throughout the entire software development lifecycle. It includes risk management by fixing potential problems early and leveraging automated testing and continuous integration to detect and address risks in a timely manner using core quality tools like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plan.

    + 1+ years of AI/ML: Knowledge of AI/ML fundamentals and tools to develop automation of repetitive tasks and assist with system design analysis.

    + 1+ years of system design and architecture: The ability to design and integrate complex systems, develop system architecture, and ensure compatibility across platforms

    + 1+ years of modeling and simulation: Proficiency in Matlab and MagicDraw with ability to create models and execute simulations.

    + 1+ years of design & release: Experience in the design, development, and release processes for electrical components and systems, including circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout considerations, and worst-case circuit analysis.

    + 1+ years of familiarity with ISO/SAE standards: Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry standards from organizations like ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).

    + 1+ years of experience in a programming language: Knowledge of languages like Python or C++, and troubleshooting.
