    Job Description

    Eurofins Advantar Laboratories is seeking a Lab Assistant Intern to support microbiological testing in a pharmaceutical GMP environment. This internship offers hands-on experience in regulated laboratory operations, including sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and microbial analysis. The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Microbiology or Biology with a microbiology emphasis, preferably in their junior or senior year.

     

    + Assist with sample preparation and support testing such as Microbial Limits (USP <61>, <62>), Sterility (USP <71>), and Endotoxin (USP <85>).

    + Prepare and verify culture media and perform basic microbiological techniques (e.g., Gram staining).

    + Support Environmental Monitoring in ISO-classified cleanrooms.

    + Operate and maintain laboratory equipment under supervision (e.g., incubators, autoclaves, biosafety cabinets).

    + Document activities in compliance with GMP/GLP and LIMS requirements.

    + Follow SOPs and maintain a clean, organized work area.

    Qualifications

    + Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Microbiology or Biology with a microbiology emphasis.

    + Preferably in junior or senior year of study.

    + Basic understanding of aseptic technique, culture handling, and pharmacopoeial methods.

    + Ability to work in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

    + Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

     

    Additional Information

     

    Position is an internship, targeting 15 - 25 hours per week from 3-5 days of work. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.

     

    The pay range of this role is **$18/h - $22/h** depending on related experience.
