Zebra Technologies is seeking an innovative and experienced RF Engineer to join our product development team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, designing, modeling, and testing radio frequency (RF) systems and subsystems for our industry-leading data capture products. As a senior member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide technical leadership in areas including radio propagation modeling, interference analysis, and the design of integrated wireless solutions.
Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in Holtsville, NY office (Hybrid- Minimum of 3 days in the office per week).
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Architect and design highly complex RF circuits and systems, managing all phases of development from initial concept to final production.
+ Lead the process of defining and establishing requirements for complex RF design projects, ensuring correct features and performance from the outset.
+ Design and implement best practices for a variety of wireless technologies, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and RFID radios.
+ Perform advanced antenna design and simulation, with a specific emphasis on UHF designs for integrated systems.
+ Proven experience working directly with global CM and JDM partners on joint product design, development, and high-volume mass production.
+ Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of RF products to ensure compliance with various country-specific regulatory certifications (e.g., FCC, CE).
+ Serve as a knowledge leader in RF design, providing technical leadership and leveraging functional expertise across multiple engineering disciplines.
+ Initiate cross-company collaboration, building positive relationships with other engineering disciplines to drive project success and refine processes.
+ Select and implement appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for RF testing and characterization.
+ Represent the organization as a principal technical contact on projects, interacting with management and senior customer personnel as needed.
+ Domestic/international travel to achieve program milestones may be required.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree and 9+ year experience or Masters degree and 6+ year experience
+ RF Engineering experience
+ Proven expertise in designing and implementing solutions with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and RFID.
+ Demonstrated experience in testing and troubleshooting RF products to meet global regulatory standards.
+ Deep understanding of radio propagation, microwave path analysis, and interference mitigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Developing programs from concept to production and deployment highly preferred
+ Strong, hands-on experience in antenna design and simulation, particularly with UHF antennas
+ Proficiency with RF simulation software (e.g., CST, HFSS) and RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)
+ Capable of RF Circuit tuning, troubleshooting
+ Ability to define requirements for and design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems
+ Excellent judgment and decision-making skills in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results

Salary: USD 138800.00 - USD 208200.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
