    Summary:

    Member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care. Acts as the shift lead to staff and assists management with daily operations of the department.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    **Required Education and** **Experience:** HS Graduate or Equivalent GED and completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or LPN Technical Diploma and 2 years surgical technician experience or completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.

    **Required** **Credentials:** BLS (Basic Life Support); CST (Certified Surgical Technologist Certification) required within six months of hire or transfer to job. Preferred NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)

     

    Required Skills also includes Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment and sterile field set-up and broad Knowledge of specialty procedures, instrumentation and equipment.
