Summary:This position will provide for the operation, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of telecommunication and associated equipment on the Great River Energy (GRE) system.

A typical starting range for this position is $52.97 - $62.32 hourly. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to

+ Perform and/or assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunication equipment, including:

• Cisco networking routers, switches, access points, VOIP phone systems, MPLS,

• Motorola Trunked Mobile Radio Systems, Spread Spectrum and microwave radio systems, MiMo,

• SCADA, RTUs, DNP/Modbus, Cybectec/SEL substation intelligent electronic devices, load management equipment,

• Communication site maintenance, power transfer switches, UPS batteries and chargers, alarm monitoring systems.

• Fiber optics systems including CWDM/DWDM, OPGW, ADSS, fusion splicing & terminations,

+ Develop and update maintenance procedures along with maintaining equipment records.

Qualifications: Knowledge typically acquired through a two-year telecommunications, or networking technology, or related degree; or a diploma and/or certifications with 3+ years’ experience and knowledge in telecommunications, networks, or wireless communications.

+ Experience with RF and optical test equipment, including communication analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and TDRs/OTDRs.

+ FCC license w/radar endorsement and other certifications will be considered.

+ Cisco network experience/certification, as well as Avionics training are highly preferred.

+ Knowledge of AC power measurement, familiarity with inductance, capacitance and power factor

+ Strong electrical and instrumentation aptitude
