As an HVAC Refrigeration Technician, you will inspect and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems and associated equipment.     A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM - 4:00PM.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Regularly inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.

    + Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/air conditioning systems and associated equipment to include: refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, medical and process chillers, cooling equipment, cryogenic freezers and rooftop heating/cooling units.

    + Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic controls, solid-state microprocessors and system alarms.

    + Repair refrigerant leaks and evacuate and adjust refrigerant charges.

    + Possibly be assigned to work across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + State of Florida EPA approved certificate for either Type I AND Type II OR Universal refrigerant systems service

    + Four years of experience as a commercial air conditioning refrigeration technician

    + Formal vocational classroom study in refrigeration, air conditioning and or air handling may substitute for up to one year experience

    + Military experience such as Machinists Mate (MM), Utilitiesman (UT), Utilities Equipment Repairer (91C), HVAC/R (3E1X1 or similar will be considered

    + Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Associate Degree in Environmental Technology from an accredited school

    + Previous work within a hospital setting

    + Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

    + Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time

    + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

    + Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

    + Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

    + Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

    + Ability to inspect equipment

    + Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures

    + Ability to distinguish color

    + Ability to climb ladders

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

     

    Pay Range

     

    Minimum hourly: $25.13

     

    Maximum hourly: $38.33
