Summary:
This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the cost accounting function, conducting complex cost analysis, and providing strategic financial insights to optimize operational efficiency and profitability. This role plays a key role in driving cost-saving initiatives, supporting decision-making processes, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Essential Functions:
• Lead the development and implementation of cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Perform detailed cost analysis, including cost drivers, variances, and trends, to identify cost reduction and operational improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data related to production processes, materials usage, labor expenses, and overhead allocations.
• Conduct product cost modeling, scenario analysis, and profitability evaluations to support pricing decisions and strategic planning.
• Prepare comprehensive cost reports and financial analyses, providing management with actionable insights for decision-making.
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels, costing, and valuation accuracy, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in developing annual budgets, forecasts, and cost standards, providing expertise in cost-related areas.
• Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. May Consider equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
• 4+ years of cost accounting experience
• Expert knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and cost allocation methodologies
• In-depth understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
