Description:
Under general supervision, performs various duties including but not limited to: intake and registration of patients, obtains insurance information, identifies patient navigation throughout our program. Schedules patient navigation as directed by physician referral. Emphasis of this position is on processing of referrals, scheduling, and allocating patient flow to appropriate clinician within our department.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Required:
One year experience in a clinical office setting or comparable work/duties.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Experience with a computerized patient management system.
Experience on business machines such as: FAX machines, multi-line telephones, copy machines, and computers.
Experience with motivation interviewing skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effective oral communication skills.
Ability to accurately enter data into scheduling application from verbal or written information.
Basic math skills required for counting/balancing money and charges.
Must satisfactorily complete central billing offices' training program.
Ability to work under pressure and to consistently prioritize multiple tasks (demonstrates adaptability/flexibility.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail while performing tasks. Ability to demonstrate poise during stressful situations.
Ability to be patient and empathetic in stressful situations.
Has the skill and desire to work as a team member.
