ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Assists in monitoring utilization of department resources, including staff, equipment, supplies and space. Completes all required documentation.

+ Continues professional development and maintains current clinical competency.

+ Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to assess patients and complete other clinical responsibilities from a developmental perspective.

+ Evaluates patients and provides physical therapy services according to department standards.

+ Participates in clinical education program for physical therapy.

+ Participates in development and implementation of treatment programs appropriate to area of specialty.

+ Participates in orientation and training of department and other hospital staff.

+ Participates in recruitment and retention efforts.

+ Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess the developmental level of adolescent patients and to incorporate this information appropriately into treatment planning and delivery of individualized treatment and patient/family education that is specific to the needs of the adolescent patient.

+ Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess the developmental level of pediatric patients and to incorporate this information appropriately into treatment planning and delivery of individualized treatment and patient/family education that is specific to the needs of the pediatric patient.

+ Possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assess the effects of aging and to incorporate this information appropriately into treatment planning and delivery of individualized treatment and patient/family education that is specific to the geriatric patient's needs.

+ Promotes professional development of staff through educational activities and acts as a resource in area of specialty.

+ Represents the department in inter- departmental functions, as requested.

+ Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization- wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation; education; departmental and interdepartmental quality control; quality improvement; and, quality planning activities

Job Requirements

Education

Minimum (Required)

Graduate of PT program accredited by CAPTE or equivalent per California PT Board requirements.

Preferred (Not required)

Work Experience

Minimum (Required)

+ Experience as clinical instructor for physical therapy students.

+ Minimum of four years experience with evidence of advanced knowledge/expertise in a specialty area.

Licenses and Certifications

Minimum (Required)

+ Current CA license as a Physical Therapist.

+ Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification

Pay Transparency

The hourly rate range for this position is $65.49 – 85.95. POSITION SUMMARY Provides physical therapy services as part of the multidisciplinary treatment team, primarily to adult and geriatric age groups with occasional, limited pediatric and adolescent patients. Acts as a resource in area of specialty. Participates in clinical education program for students, in orientation/educational activities for staff and in program/service development.
