Description
As a Food Service Worker, you'll support the preparation, assembly, and delivery of patient meals while keeping our kitchen and service areas running smoothly. This includes maintaining clean, safe workspaces and handling food properly throughout each shift.
Key responsibilities:
* Assemble meal trays accurately and neatly in a fast-moving environment.
* Present menus to patients and help with selections when needed.
* Distribute menus based on the diet master list.
* Collect trays after each meal and return food carts to the designated areas.
* Prepare and deliver patient snacks.
* Follow all sanitation and food safety standards.
* Work in the dish room and pot room, and assist with general housekeeping tasks.
This is a part-time, per diem role with variable hours and a flexible schedule. Let me know if you want a shorter version or one tailored for an internal posting.
Qualifications
* Able to follow standardized recipes accurately.
* Familiar with general and nutrient-modified diets.
* Able to read and write standard English.
* Comfortable performing basic arithmetic.
* Able to stand for long periods and repeatedly stretch, bend, walk, stoop, and reach.
* Able to work in hot, cold, or wet environments; lift up to 40 pounds; and push or pull carts up to 350 pounds.
* Able to follow the required dress code and infection-prevention guidelines.
* Consistently practices safe food-handling techniques.
* Able to adapt to changing workloads and meet production schedules.
* Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with coworkers, customers, supervisors, and managers.
* Able to maintain reliability with varying schedules.
* Willing and able to travel to multiple UCLA Health locations.
