Purchasing Agent
**Location:** Sterling, IL
**Reports To:** Operations Manager
Summary:
The Purchasing Agent manages procurement, inventory, and vendor relationships to support daily operations. This role negotiates pricing and contracts, ensures timely delivery, and maintains compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Source and purchase materials, equipment, and components.
+ Monitor inventory and reconcile discrepancies in ERP system.
+ Negotiate terms, resolve shipment issues, and maintain vendor compliance.
+ Track orders and communicate delays to internal teams.
+ Maintain accurate records and support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
+ 3–5 years purchasing experience.
+ Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
+ Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
+ Knowledge of sourcing strategies and lean manufacturing principles.
