As a member of the Ops Tech Solutions software development team, you will be at the forefront of IT service delivery, collaborating across Ops Tech Solutions infrastructure and services teams. You will be surrounded by people who are passionate about optimizing IT services and believes that world-class service is critical to customer success. You will work across all internal teams to drive tooling and process improvements to ensure a high quality, fast resolution customer experience. Your mission is to develop a world-class IT Delivery software.

Ops Tech Solutions is looking for experienced and dedicated team member to lead the development and implementation of software that will support our Service Now and other IT Delivery solutions for the organization. The ideal candidate is innovative, strong judgement, and has a great problem-solving skills. You must be comfortable building and integrating software solution using AWS, Amazon tools or other open-source resources. You will need to work with non-technical and technical teams to translate business cases to scalable solutions for multiple teams. In addition, you’ll need to be able to clearly and effectively communicate to larger non-technical audiences on system changes and enhancements. You will be working in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. You must be flexible and adapt well to a wide range of tasks and technologies.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer II for Delivery Software Engineering within OTS org:

- You will be leading the development and integration solutions to automate IT services.

- You work autonomously, act as an advocate for Operational Excellence, design best practice and testing strategies that improve and scale our software for Fulfillment Center operations and Field IT associates worldwide.

- A successful candidate will have an established technical background in developing solutions that perform complex, multi-step tasks with reasoning and minimal human oversight, excellent project management along with great communication skills, and the ability to provide technical trade-offs to deliver results in a fast paced environment.

About the team

The Delivery Software Engineering team has a mission to establish and standardize software development products that fuel increases in efficiency, customer satisfaction, and quality within Ops Tech Solutions. This role is for you if you're passionate about software development, process improvement, and having the world-wide impact across all Amazon Fulfillment Centers.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience

- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience

- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
