Job Title: IT Data Analyst II
Department: Information Technology
FLSA: Exempt
General Function
Hy-Vee is seeking a Data Analyst II to support business decision-making through data analysis, visualization, and insights. This role partners closely with business and IT teams to translate data into meaningful, actionable outcomes using modern analytics tools.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Analyze, cleanse, and validate data from multiple sources to support business initiatives.
+ Design and develop dashboards and reports, primarily using Power BI.
+ Write and optimize queries using SQL; leverage Python and/or R for analysis and automation.
+ Identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
+ Troubleshoot data, reporting, and analytics issues end-to-end.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend data-driven solutions.
+ Support data standards, documentation, and best practices
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Active participant in all of the agile scrum meetings.
+ Attends and is prepared to participate in team, department and company meetings.
+ Performs other job related duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics
+ Strong data visualization skills
+ Analytics skills including data mining, evaluation, and analysis through the use of statistical packages
+ Technical writing experience in presentations, queries, and reports
+ Ability to propose solutions before actively developing a feature or request
+ Familiarity of data warehousing concepts
+ Familiarity of tabular models and multidimensional cubes.

Experience and Education
+ 2+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytics role.
+ Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Excel, and experience with Python and/or R.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
+ Experience working with structured datasets and reporting tools.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
+ Experience supporting enterprise or cross-functional teams.
+ Familiarity with data governance or data lifecycle management concepts
Physical Requirements
+ Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
+ Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
+ Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
