**Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Quality Control Specialist** for a **notable, innovation-driven pharmaceutical company** in **Berkeley, CA** . This role supports the Quality Control Chemistry organization and plays a key part in implementing, developing, and validating analytical methods in a regulated GMP environment.
**Pay** : 30-36/hr depending on education and relevant experience
About the Role
This position supports the implementation of new analytical methods within the QC Chemistry department. The scientist will be responsible for method feasibility studies, method development, and execution of laboratory assays in support of method validation protocols. The role requires strong hands-on experience with chromatography, wet chemistry, and analytical instrumentation, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing and research teams.
Key Responsibilities
+ Support implementation of new analytical methods within the QC Chemistry department
+ Perform method feasibility studies, method development, and execute method validation protocols
+ Conduct laboratory testing using a range of analytical instrumentation, including:
+ HPLC, UPLC
+ Karl Fischer titrator, autotitrator
+ Melting point meter, chloride meter, polarimeter
+ Apply in-depth knowledge of chromatography techniques (SEC, ion exchange, normal phase, reverse phase, ion-pair, etc.)
+ Perform electrophoresis techniques (PAGE and/or agarose) and spectrophotometric and wet chemistry methods
+ Prepare samples and troubleshoot assays and analytical instrumentation to ensure reliable method performance
+ Generate method development and method validation reports
+ Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, including notebooks, logs, and electronic records
+ Work within LIMS, SAP, and chromatographic software systems (e.g., Empower)
+ Follow SOPs, pharmacopoeias, GDP, GMP, regulatory, and safety requirements
+ Manage multiple tasks while working with multiple technical leads and interfacing with manufacturing and research personnel
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline
+ Minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry
+ OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience
+ OR PhD with relevant industry exposure
+ Prior QC laboratory experience
+ Strong hands-on experience with chromatography and analytical instrumentation
+ Experience working in a regulated GMP environment
Preferred:
+ Experience supporting biologics and understanding of manufacturing processes
+ Proficiency with LIMS, SAP, and Empower
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Work Environment
+ Onsite role in Berkeley, CA
+ Regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

**Pay Details:** $30.00 to $36.00 per hour
