Job Title: Injection Mold Technician
Job Description
An Injection Mold Technician is responsible for setting up case molds and letter molds in injection molded presses, programming robotic spruce pickers to optimize cycle times, and performing process setups to ensure quality documentation is followed or modified as needed. The technician uses diagnostic tools to enhance the injection process, acts as a technical resource, and provides work direction to press operators and assembly personnel. The role includes performing preventive maintenance, inspecting cases using ASTM methods, and recording process parameters at the end of production runs.
Responsibilities
+ Set up case molds and letter molds in injection molded presses.
+ Program robotic spruce pickers to maximize cycle times.
+ Perform process setups on each mold/part and ensure documentation is followed or modified.
+ Use diagnostic tools to optimize the injection process.
+ Act as a technical resource and tooling design specialist.
+ Set up all subassembly operations and ensure quality requirements are met.
+ Provide work direction to press operators and assembly personnel.
+ Perform daily and periodic preventive maintenance on tooling and machinery.
+ Inspect and test cases of each production run using ASTM methods.
+ Fill hoppers on injection presses with appropriate materials.
+ Record all process parameters at the end of each production run.
+ Operate drill presses, cutters, milling machines, sonic welders, and custom fixtures.
+ Record production units produced during the shift on daily log sheets.
+ Visually inspect parts for surface and dimensional defects.
+ Maintain an effective working relationship with all department employees.
+ Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
+ Use all required safety supplies and procedures.
+ May perform similar or related duties as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to work in multiple areas of production.
+ Ability to learn and work on a variety of machines.
+ 2-Year Certificate in a plastic-related field or experience with plastic manufacturing.
+ Preferred experience in manufacturing machine operations.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cannon Falls, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
