    Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems to ensure the smooth operation of production units and utilities. This role involves creating and implementing preventive maintenance plans, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and utilizing diagnostic tools to maintain optimal equipment functionality.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven troubleshooting and repair skills in both electrical and mechanical domains.

    + Experience in preventive maintenance, particularly in hydraulics and pneumatics.

    + Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance systems.

    + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

    + Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

    Responsibilities

    + Create preventive maintenance (PM) plans for electrical systems including motors, MCC, transformers, and breakers for production units and utilities.

    + Troubleshoot electrical or control issues by interpreting one-line diagrams or PLC programs and using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, non-contact voltage testers, and clamp meters.

    + Address issues related to electrical motors, VFDs, and motor control centers (MCC).

    + Conduct predictive maintenance techniques like infrared inspections, megger, and motor current analysis.

    + Utilize and maintain the CMMS (SAP) plan maintenance system.

    + Develop PM plans for rotating machinery such as gearboxes, transmissions, motors, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

    + Troubleshoot rotating machinery by interpreting mechanical drawings, OEM manuals, and industry standards.

    + Resolve issues related to hydraulic and pneumatic systems by interpreting schematic drawings and following OEM guidelines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the steel manufacturing industry is advantageous.

    + Bilingual abilities are a plus but not mandatory.

    + Basic computer skills are required to use the maintenance ticket system.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
