    POSITION SUMMARY: The Dock Controller oversees and coordinates the movement of goods in and out of the facility’s loading docks. This role ensures efficient scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments, monitors dock activities, maintains accurate records, and collaborates with warehouse and operations teams to support smooth logistics flow.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned. Individual will work a varied schedule based on client needs.

     

    • Schedule and manage dock appointments for inbound and outbound shipments.

    • Direct carriers and drivers to assigned dock doors.

    • Monitor dock operations to ensure timely loading and unloading of trucks. • Verify shipping and receiving documentation for accuracy. • Communicate with warehouse and inventory teams regarding product flow and priorities.

    • Track trailer movements and maintain a dock log in management system. • Enforce dock safety rules, proper use of equipment, and compliance with facility procedures.

    • Report delays, damages, or discrepancies to supervisors and assist in resolving issues. • Support inventory control by ensuring products are moved accurately and efficiently.

    • Collaborate with transportation providers, warehouse leads, and customer service teams to maintain on-time performance.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;

    • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training;

    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Creek, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job

    classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
