Position Description:
This role is part of Kinder Morgan’s Midstream Gas Pipelines Department, reporting to the Director of Commercial Scheduling. The Commercial Business Processes Analyst serves as a liaison between the Midstream Scheduling, Business Processes, and IT development teams, overseeing projects involving business process analysis, user requirements, and system enhancement implementation.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
+ Identify opportunities to improve processes, support ongoing process improvement, gain efficiencies and implementation of best practices.
+ This role has the potential to grow in responsibilities, giving the individual autonomy and leadership opportunities in the areas of technical and process improvements, project ownership, and increased strategic involvement across Scheduling, Commercial, and IT initiatives.
+ Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce unnecessary change requests.
+ Work closely with upper management to implement change management strategies.
+ Train and serve as the DART subject matter expert for the Midstream Scheduling team.
+ Manage business user requests for enhancements and changes to the DART system.
+ Manage system issues and tickets for the Midstream Scheduling team.
+ Facilitate communication across business units to ensure proper vetting, documentation, and communication of system requests.
+ Work with upper management to draft Business Requirement Documents for capital projects and enhancements.
+ Lead EDI implementation and ongoing support.
+ Work with IT Business Solutions team to develop reporting solutions for the Midstream Scheduling team.
+ Comfortable leading system and process training sessions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
*Job level will be commensurate with experience and skills of successful candidate.
Position Requirements
Education:
+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent related work experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
+ Minimum of 5 years industry experience preferred. Scheduling experience is a plus.
+ Experience with DART or equivalent pipeline administration transactional system is a plus.
+ Experience with EDI is a plus.
+ Experience with JIRA issue tracking system is a plus.
+ Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple short and long-term projects.
+ Ability to translate business needs into IT requirements.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
+ Experience aligning diverse business priorities.
+ Project management experience preferred.
+ Ability to learn new technologies.
+ Possesses the aptitude and skills to be considered for future career advancement.
