The VP of Engineering will play a crucial role in shaping the technical strategy and direction of the company. This leadership position involves collaborating closely with the CEO and representing the company to customers, ensuring that the technical approach aligns with market requirements and sustainability. The role demands an expert understanding of airworthiness compliance, primarily within military contexts, and active participation in the management team to maintain the company's technology leadership.
Responsibilities
+ Report directly to the CEO.
+ Represent the company to customers.
+ Determine and implement the engineering technical strategy ensuring consistency with market requirements and sustainability.
+ Ensure technical correctness and efficiency in meeting compliance obligations of airworthiness authorities, predominantly military.
+ Serve as a key member of the management team, setting the company's technical direction.
+ Stay informed on current industry trends to maintain and expand the company's technology leadership.
Essential Skills
+ Engineering degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
+ 15 to 25 years of direct engineering experience in the spacecraft or aerospace industry with project ownership.
+ Substantial experience in proving airworthiness compliance using comparative/modeling analysis.
+ Expert knowledge and experience with DoD airworthiness entities in the USAF/USN.
+ Detailed experience with regulatory issues related to aircraft design and analysis impacting conformity and compliance.
+ In-depth knowledge and experience with aircraft structural analysis methods, including hand calculations using resources like MMPDS, Bruhn, Roark, etc.
+ Experience in design work from conceptual level to full 3D modeling, validation with FEA analysis, and continuing into manufacturing.
+ Experience in fatigue analysis of mechanical and electronic components, including static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock test experience with aerospace flight hardware.
+ Ability to evaluate detailed methods of analysis for primary and secondary structures and mechanical systems.
+ Ability to evaluate technical solutions to complex problems with imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions.
+ Ability to evaluate detailed 3D designs, CAD drawings, and other related documents.
+ Excellent teaming and communication skills.
+ Experience in testing aerospace components/assemblies to validate conformance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in uniform or as a civilian engineer at Wright Patterson AFB, Robins AFB, Patuxent NAS, or similar.
+ FAA DER certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
+ Considerable experience working on airworthiness support for DoD requirements.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooksville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
