    Job Title: : Linux Admin

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled individual with expertise in Ansible Automation and Linux systems. This role involves working with the latest generation of Intel-based servers, Linux cluster configurations, and virtualization architectures, including Red Hat KVM. You will design, install, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot our large-scale System of Systems architecture, focusing on building high-fidelity simulation, training, and analysis products for the US Navy. This full-time, onsite position requires US Citizenship and a DoD Secret Security clearance.

    Responsibilities

    + Design, develop, install, and integrate submarine training systems.

    + Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system services, application software, and system management tools for Linux systems both natively and within virtual machines.

    + Collaborate with the team to monitor and test applications, virtual machines, and containers to identify installation and performance issues.

    + Troubleshoot IT systems to diagnose and suggest/implement potential solutions.

    + Support physical hardware installation of IT computing equipment and cabling at both local and remote sites.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field with 5 years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

    + Experience with bash scripting.

    + Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Red Hat KVM.

    + Networking knowledge, including OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, and DHCP.

    + US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

    + Ability to work onsite in Middletown, RI.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Active Security Clearance is preferred.

    + Current IAT Level I Certifications in Network, Security, and Linux.

    + Experience with Cisco switch/router configuration, development, and deployment.

    + Experience with System Build Automation Tools such as Linux kickstart, Puppet, or Windows Deployment Server (WDS).

    + Knowledge in computer/electronics hardware, including Intel server configurations.

    + Configuration management experience with both centralized and distributed version control systems, such as SVN and Git.

    + Experience with submarine tactical systems.

    + Experience as a Navy junior officer is a plus.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves engaging in exciting projects, not just building infrastructure or patching systems. You will be building trainers and constantly innovating. The position is full-time and onsite in Middletown, RI, requiring work with advanced technologies and systems to support the US Navy.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, RI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
