Join a dynamic startup medical device company as a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will support an existing implantable device while also working on the next generation of products. You will lead electronic product development efforts and shape the future of product development within the company.
Responsibilities
+ Support product development projects from concept to production transfer, adhering to design controls, and delivering on tasks such as concept generation and schedule generation.
+ Manage and execute continuation activities for internal and contract manufacturer changes and projects, either as a project manager or individual contributor.
+ Provide technical evaluation of field returns, feedback, and complaints for existing devices and systems.
+ Serve as the technical lead on projects and deliverables, managing requirements, tasks, schedule, and budget with minimal external support.
+ Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards IEC and IEC, and other international standards including ISO.
+ Develop and perform, or guide others in performing, bench-top testing and verification/validation activities, documenting protocols and results.
+ Participate in Design Assurance activities such as risk assessment and FMEA.
+ Provide technical support for product manufacturing, including development and validation of manufacturing and test processes.
+ Analyze product and clinical data through direct analysis and development of automated systems.
+ Apply engineering knowledge to assist in developing strategic plans for new products and enhancements.
+ Generate and leverage intellectual property for new therapies and clinical uses.
+ Provide technical supervision and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and direction to external contractors.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
+ 8+ years of experience in medical device development, with preference for active implantable medical device experience.
+ Proficiency in developing electrical components and systems.
+ Experience with electrical test equipment, including digital multimeter, power supply, oscilloscope, and spectrum analyzer.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge of RF Communication and Hardware Development in the medical device industry.
+ Experience with Intellectual Property Generation for new therapies or clinical uses.
Work Environment
The work environment is a combination of office and electronic lab settings. The engineering team is expected to be onsite 95% of the time, providing a collaborative and hands-on experience.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $77.00/hr.
