Job Title: Building Envelope Sales EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Building Envelope Sales Engineer to deliver technical presentations on building science topics such as air barrier performance, thermal efficiency, and hygrothermal behavior to large technical and professional audiences. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with architects, engineers, and construction contractors to identify project requirements and recommend solutions. The position requires reviewing blueprints and specifications to prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and submittals, as well as utilizing building envelope modeling tools for thermal and hygrothermal simulations to support design decisions.

Responsibilities

+ Deliver technical presentations on building science topics to large audiences.

+ Build and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, and contractors.

+ Identify project requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.

+ Review blueprints and specs to prepare technical proposals and cost estimates.

+ Utilize building envelope modeling tools for simulations to support design decisions.

+ Provide guidance on code compliance, energy efficiency, and sustainable design principles.

+ Manage the sales cycle from prospecting to project close, coordinating with technical support, operations, and management.

+ Assist with specing products and installation recommendations.

+ Prepare technical reports and market insights to support company strategy.

+ Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and educational workshops.

+ Run reports and analysis for proposals.

+ Build models for assemblies and run simulations and calculations.

+ Consult customers on building envelope sciences, codes, etc.

Essential Skills

+ 2-5 years of experience in building envelope design, building sciences, or technical sales related to roofing, wall, or façade systems.

+ EIT or equivalent certification.

+ Expertise in building science principles, including heat, air, and moisture transfer.

+ Experience with air barrier simulation, modeling, or field testing.

+ Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

+ Consultative sales experience with problem-solving and analytical skills.

+ Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.

+ Proficiency in CAD software and design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Air barrier or building science certifications.

+ Familiarity with building codes and standards.

+ Knowledge of building envelope performance modeling software for simulations such as WUFI, THERM, HEAT3 or similar.

This position offers a work-from-home flexibility with 50% travel required. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
