Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you will primarily work with DC drives for auto shredders and general drive applications. You will be responsible for the design, start-up, and service of automation systems, ensuring smooth operations and optimal performance. This role involves various technical tasks including drive configurations, PLC and HMI programming, data acquisition, and SCADA systems.
Responsibilities
+ Design, start-up, and service of automation systems.
+ Configure drives and program PLCs and HMIs.
+ Develop electrical circuit designs and bill of materials.
+ Conduct system tests and start-ups.
+ Provide field engineering services on customers’ drive systems and automation controls.
+ Offer customer service and technical assistance to both internal and external customers.
+ Perform engineering studies.
Essential Skills
+ 2-5 years of experience in an automation, industrial equipment, or systems integration environment.
+ Experience with field service work, including installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting equipment.
+ Proficiency with motors/drives (VFD) and a strong working knowledge of electricity.
+ Ability to open, manipulate, and troubleshoot PLC code.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Understanding of force theory.
+ Familiarity with basic electrical testing equipment and tools such as electrical meters, sockets, and wrenches.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Engineering Degree.
+ PLC Programming experience.
+ Medium voltage experience.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Lenox, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr.
