We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves performing vital sign documentation, preparing patients and examination rooms for procedures, and assisting physicians by documenting medical histories and case notes. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment, ensuring accurate and complete record-keeping, and facilitating patient care activities.
Responsibilities
+ Document vital signs and assist in preparing patients and rooms for exams and procedures.
+ Maintain a clean and organized environment.
+ Provide patient care assistance, such as greeting patients, taking vital signs, and preparing examination rooms.
+ Assist physicians with procedures, document medical history, and case notes.
+ Relay instructions from physicians to patients or authorized individuals.
+ Collect and document patient data in person and by phone.
+ Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for physician review.
+ Ensure complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area.
+ Set up cases in the EMR system and perform basic registration and updates to demographics.
+ Document medical information accurately in patient records.
+ Track and route test results to physicians/nurse practitioners for review.
+ Communicate test results to patients as deemed appropriate by physicians/nurse practitioners.
+ Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests and reinforcing patient education.
+ Perform triage as directed by physicians/nurse practitioners.
+ Maintain an adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies.
+ Utilize basic computer skills for proficient use of electronic health records during daily documentation and communications.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
+ Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records.
+ Strong skills in medical assisting, patient care, and phlebotomy.
+ Ability to accurately document medical information and communicate effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred.
Work Environment
The position operates within a busy urgent care setting, handling 50-100 patients per day. The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. There is an opportunity for overtime within different specialties.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
