    Job Title: Quality Assurance SupervisorJob Description

     

    The Quality Assurance Supervisor will provide leadership in quality and technical matters to the plant team to comply with Corporate Quality Policy.

    Responsibilities

    + Hire and supervise quality staff, including scheduling, approving time records, conducting evaluations, counselling, and documenting performance.

    + Conduct departmental and job-specific training.

    + Perform laboratory analyses and investigations, and develop and apply new techniques.

    + Notify key stakeholders of identified issues and ensure proper communication.

    + Provide technical support for resolution of quality problems with operations.

    + Maintain files of test results and product dispositions, and support ERP and lab data systems.

    + Update product specifications, including customer and raw material specifications, to reflect changes or product use requirements.

    + Ensure finished products and raw materials are tested per specification and monitor test results.

    + Develop and adhere to Quality SOPs.

    + Support the plant Food Safety & Quality System to produce safe quality food, acting as SQF Practitioner or equivalent GFSI manager.

    + Prepare test schedules and procedures, solutions, and reagents for laboratory use, maintaining Good Laboratory Procedures (GLPs), including calibration.

    + Order laboratory supplies.

    + In conjunction with the Quality Manager, update and support food safety programs and systems, including HACCP, sanitation, and environmental monitoring.

    + Participate in quality complaint investigations and verify corrective action completion.

    + Perform and/or participate in internal and third-party audits, ensuring compliance to internal quality policies and applicable local regulations.

    + Support facility during inspections, customer audits, communications, commercializations, inter-plant transfers, and other regulatory or customer interactions.

    + Provide technical assistance to quality assurance and operations.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong knowledge in quality assurance and food science.

    + Supervisory skills.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a similar science/engineering field.

    + 1-2 years of quality experience.

    + Experience with laboratory, quality, and/or food safety systems.

    + Knowledge of relevant GFSI standards such as SQF, BRC, IFS, or FS.

    + Understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA, HACCP, and industry trends.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in a plant environment preferred.

    + Knowledge and experience with quality management systems, GFSI audit standards, SSOPs, and environmental hygiene programs.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Union City, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
