Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Morgan Hill, California. This is a long-term contract position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate tax, general ledger management, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

• Manage sales tax processes, including accurate calculations and timely submissions.

• Create and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

• Oversee general ledger accounts, performing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate reporting of financial data.

• Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

• Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify trends and areas for improvement.

• Maintain knowledge of current tax laws to ensure compliance and advise on necessary changes.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing financial statements and reports.

• Ensure accuracy and integrity in all accounting tasks performed. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.

• Strong understanding of sales tax regulations and processes.

• Proficiency in creating and managing journal entries.

• Solid knowledge of general ledger account management and reconciliation.

• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

• Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
