    Hedge Fund – Trade Accountant / Product Control (Commodities)

     

    (Confidential | NYC/Stamford | Hybrid)

     

    A multi-strategy hedge fund with an active commodities trading desk is seeking a Trade Accountant/Product Controller to support daily P& L, position reporting, and trade lifecycle controls. This role sits close to the front office and is ideal for someone with experience in energy, metals, or derivatives trading environments.

    Responsibilities:

    + Produce and explain daily P& L for commodities portfolios

    + Validate trades, pricing, vol curves, and valuations across listed and OTC products

    + Reconcile positions with traders, operations, and risk

    + Review settlements, confirmations, and counterparty reconciliations

    + Support month-end close including accruals, journal entries, and NAV-related reporting

    + Partner with the desk on ad hoc analysis, modeling, and process improvements

    Requirements

    + Experience in commodities trading environments (hedge fund, prop shop, bank, or merchant)

    + Strong understanding of futures, options, and swaps

    + Robust Excel skills; familiarity with ETRM/PnL systems a plus

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced, front-office-facing role with high visibility
