Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Hopewell, Virginia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions for our manufacturing operations. If you are detail-oriented and skilled in managing invoices and payments, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process invoices, including coding and verification, to ensure timely payments.
• Perform regular check runs and reconcile payment discrepancies as needed.
• Review and match invoices to purchase orders and other supporting documents.
• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions for auditing purposes.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve billing issues or discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations in all payment processes.
• Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve payment-related queries.
• Assist in preparing reports and summaries related to accounts payable activities.
• Monitor accounts payable systems and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in coding invoices and managing payment processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
• Familiarity with check runs and invoice reconciliation practices.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and relevant software systems.
• High level of organizational skills to maintain detailed records.
