Description

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a boutique law firm to identify a skilled Litigation Legal Secretary for a fully remote, part-time, contract opportunity. This role supports a high-profile mass tort sexual abuse case and will provide critical assistance on an ad hoc basis.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare, assemble, and file pleadings and other legal documents in California State Courts with minimal supervision.

+ Support attorneys with state filings, document organization, and case management tasks.

+ Maintain deadlines and manage filings to ensure all documents meet California civil procedure requirements.

+ Coordinate sporadic workload (with advance lead time provided), fluctuating from periods of low activity to up to 15–20 hours per week.

+ Communicate clearly with attorneys and staff in a fully remote setting.

Position Details:

+ Contract basis with no fixed end date; workload is project-driven.

+ Fully remote; work from any location within the U.S.

+ Flexible hours; ideal for candidates seeking supplemental income or working alongside a full-time role.

+ Compensation up to $40/hr.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 3+ years of experience supporting litigation in California State Courts.

+ Strong familiarity with California civil procedure and court filing protocols.

+ Ability to process and file pleadings with little oversight.

+ Proven reliability working in remote/virtual legal environments.

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.

+ Ability to respond during ebbs and flows of work, with advance notice.

+ High level of discretion due to sensitive case matter.
