Accounts Payable Manager (Contract-to-Permanent)
Our company is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager for a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This critical role will manage a high-volume accounts payable (AP) function within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings expertise in process improvement, internal controls, and compliance requirements, particularly SOX, and is knowledgeable in the General Ledger (GL) aspects of AP. You will lead month-end close activities, drive audit readiness, and resolve complex issues to ensure efficiency and accuracy across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee the full AP process, managing a very large volume of transactions with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
+ Develop, document, and maintain robust internal audit processes for AP; support internal/external audit requirements.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to automate and enhance the efficiency of AP operations.
+ Oversee the GL impact of AP transactions, ensuring appropriate coding, reconciliations, and account analysis.
+ Ensure all AP operations and documentation adhere to SOX compliance requirements.
+ Manage monthly close activities for AP, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
+ Serve as the go-to problem solver for AP-related issues and concerns, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
+ Supervise, mentor, and motivate AP team members to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable management or supervision.
• Strong knowledge of AP processes, including coding invoices and conducting check runs.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and related procedures.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools used for accounts payable operations.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards relevant to AP processes.
