Description We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our organization on a long-term contract basis in Saint Louis, Missouri. This leadership role will focus on assessing and stabilizing financial operations, developing standardized processes, and driving strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial systems, reporting, and operational efficiency to support organizational goals and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and stabilize the structure, staffing, workflows, and controls within the Finance and Accounting Department.
• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in financial operations, recommending and implementing immediate improvements.
• Develop and document standardized procedures for accounting, payroll, budgeting, and internal controls to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Review and enhance procurement and supply chain processes, including vendor management and purchasing controls.
• Improve the clarity, cadence, and functionality of internal financial reporting to support executive decision-making.
• Assess financial software systems, ensuring alignment with operational needs and compliance requirements.
• Address audit findings by implementing solutions to remediate material weaknesses and deficiencies.
• Conduct a leadership needs assessment to align the finance team’s structure and roles with organizational objectives.
• Partner with executive leadership to define long-term financial strategies and perform sensitivity analyses to guide resource allocation.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure a seamless transition of financial strategies and processes. Requirements • A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably as a CFO.
• Proven expertise in cash flow analysis, capital management, and month-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and business systems.
• Experience in standardizing processes and implementing internal controls.
• Familiarity with procurement and supply chain management.
• Ability to analyze financial systems and recommend enhancements or replacements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with executive teams and stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to conduct sensitivity analyses and align financial strategies with organizational priorities.
