Description We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Family Services Specialist to join our team in Newport News, Virginia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in supporting families by assessing their needs, providing case management, and connecting them with essential resources. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the community while working collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations to determine family needs and create tailored service plans.

• Provide case management services, ensuring timely documentation and follow-ups.

• Assist families with access to essential resources like housing, food, clothing, and safety services.

• Collaborate with seniors, adults with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations to address their concerns.

• Maintain detailed records of assessments, referrals, and progress updates.

• Serve as a liaison to community organizations, connecting clients with appropriate services.

• Utilize software tools such as Word and CRM systems to manage cases effectively.

• Manage workload efficiently by prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners to ensure high-quality service delivery.

• Operate office equipment such as copiers and scanners for document management. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in case management or social services.

• Strong skills in conducting assessments and maintaining accurate documentation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other computer applications.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to engage with diverse populations, including seniors and adults with disabilities.

• Familiarity with community resources and services.

• Demonstrated organizational skills, including time management and task prioritization.
