Description We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in San Diego, California. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing financial processes and reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow analysis.

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

• Perform detailed audits and reviews to maintain compliance with accounting standards.

• Manage fixed asset and liability accounts, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

• Reconcile bank accounts and prepare financial reports to support strategic decision-making.

• Utilize Epicor and Excel (including PivotTables and VLOOKUP) to streamline accounting workflows.

• Collaborate with the Controller and Accounting Manager to improve efficiency in financial operations.

• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger for accurate financial tracking.

• Handle corporate and sales tax filings, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including streamlining the month-end close process. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, with exposure to full month-end close processes.

• Proficiency in Epicor software and advanced Excel functions such as PivotTables and VLOOKUP.

• Strong understanding of balance sheets, cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.

• Demonstrated ability to perform audits and reviews, with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience managing corporate and sales tax filings as well as general ledger maintenance.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.

• Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Ability to work fully onsite initially, transitioning to a hybrid schedule after approximately three months.
