Job Title: EstimatorJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Estimator to join our team. This role requires daily attendance in the office and involves working on the design-build, build, bid, and inspect estimating process. The position includes reviewing prints and visiting sites to create bids. Our projects typically include duct work, plumbing, rooftop units, thermostats, exhaust systems, and grills, primarily for standard office buildings, small healthcare facilities, and retail spaces.

Responsibilities

+ Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

+ Estimate material, labor hours, and job schedules required for completion of construction projects.

+ Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes and proposals, ensuring they meet specific project requirements.

+ Prepare proposals and customer presentations based on blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

+ Ensure proposals are delivered accurately and on time every time.

+ Perform site visits and inspections to verify conditions, risks, and cost impacts.

+ Communicate and maintain contacts and relationships with vendors, contractors, industry peers, individuals, and organizations.

+ Work on multiple bids simultaneously and deliver in accordance with deadline objectives.

+ Operate and maintain proficiency in all internal estimating systems, technologies, and software.

+ Prepare special reports and attend company meetings as required.

+ Continually learn and update technical knowledge by attending workshops, classes, and technical meetings.

+ Work closely with project managers and field personnel to prepare project change orders.

+ Work harmoniously with all internal and external stakeholders.

+ Ensure compliance with all project standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in estimation, construction, and bidding processes.

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, manuals, and technical documents.

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.

+ Strong proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis with a high level of accuracy and detail.

+ Ability to operate and maintain proficiency in all internal estimating systems, technologies, and software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Prefer experience as a mechanical supervisor, field supervisor, project manager, or high-level foreman if no estimating experience.

+ Construction estimating experience preferred.

+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Work Environment

The role requires daily presence in the office, with site visits for bid creation. It offers a $500 monthly car allowance and a $35 monthly cell phone allowance. The work environment involves collaboration with various stakeholders and requires proficiency in using internal estimating systems and software. The position supports continual learning and professional development through workshops, classes, and technical meetings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Valley, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $60.00/hr.
