$125,000 – $170,000 base salary
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr Test Engineer to lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of test systems, test fixtures, and test software for high‑reliability electronic products used in aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.
This is a hands‑on leadership role within a fast‑growing manufacturing environment, offering strong technical ownership, visibility to Sr leadership, and long‑term career growth.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead the design, development, and implementation of test systems, fixtures, and LabVIEW‑based test software
+ Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex test‑related issues
+ Oversee testing of prototype, production, and customer‑returned products, ensuring compliance with quality and performance requirements
+ Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations, driving corrective actions and process improvements
+ Collaborate cross‑functionally with Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to optimize test processes for production
+ Mentor and guide junior test engineers, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative environment
+ Champion continuous improvement of test methodologies, equipment, and workflows
+ Review and approve test documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports
+ Support qualification and certification testing as required by customer or regulatory standards
+ Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, including MIL‑STD, MIL‑PRF, and IPC
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
+ 10+ years of test engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Sr or lead role within a manufacturing environment
+ Strong hands‑on experience with:
+ Test system and fixture design
+ Electrical validation and troubleshooting
+ LabVIEW development
+ Oscilloscopes and other bench test equipment
+ Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
+ Deep knowledge of testing techniques, failure analysis, and debugging methodologies
+ Experience testing PCB and hybrid electronic assemblies
+ Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL‑STD‑883, MIL‑PRF‑38534/38510, IPC‑610
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
+ Test automation experience
+ Development of test plans and procedures
+ Statistical process control (SPC) and test data analysis
+ Aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
Work Environment
+ Combination of shop‑floor bench testing and cubicle‑based design/test development work
+ Collaborative, team‑oriented manufacturing setting
+ Exposure to a wide variety of military, aerospace, and commercial electronic products
+ Not a circuit design role — focus is on test systems, fixtures, and validation

This is a Permanent position based out of Bohemia, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
