The Role at a glance:
As a Safety Manager at Elior North America, you will be developing and executing safety policies and procedures in our workplaces in line with industry best practice, current regulatory requirements and as directed by the Safety Director. Preparing and enforcing company policies to establish and drive a positive safety culture throughout the organization. Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the relevant industry best practice, regulations and position requirement. A major function of this role is to integrate safety into the culture of the organization, produce safe environments for our employees, clients, and customers, and manage key performance indicators to drive strong business results.
What you'll be doing:
+ Prepare and enforce company policies to establish a positive safety culture.
+ Learn, understand, and implement workplace safety protocol with a desire to grow in food safety.
+ Develop and execute safety processes, procedures and plans in the workplace according to current industry best practice, regulation and to the satisfaction of the Elior Safety Director.
+ Create and conduct relevant safety training and presentations for positive safety culture matters.
+ Strong collaboration with aligned segment leaders to deliver safety excellence.
+ Support internal crisis management procedures.
+ Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes and support the Elior Risk Team.
+ Investigate and coordinate appropriate responses to OSHA and food safety investigations and citations.
+ Develop and recommend appropriate solutions to the business to improve opportunities or new safety prevention measures.
+ Support in the delivery of and report on safety awareness, near misses, safety issues and related metrics and statistics.
+ Attend client and operational meetings as and when required to support the effective implementation of work-based safety solutions.
+ Work collaboratively with various support functions to ensure effective safety compliance.
+ Work collaboratively with purchasing team towards identifying suppliers of safety equipment to meet the safety requirements of the business.
+ To contribute to RFPs and attend sales meetings when required.
+ To attend operational meetings and facilitate outcomes on behalf of Safety and Compliance.
+ To work with audit outsourced partner, to ensure effective site visits and reporting in terms of site surveys, risk assessments and audits.
+ To contribute to and shape the annual Safety strategy, providing clear direction for the team.
+ Support the Elior Safety Director and fellow Safety team members and contribute to management reports as required.
+ To maintain working relationships with Operations Leaders, attending meetings as required.
+ To work effectively and efficiently to ensure consistency in safety performance within the Safety team as well as other internal stakeholders.
+ Maximize the use of available resources from our insurance providers and partners
+ To attend team conference calls, meetings and events.
+ Support the mobilization of new contracts in aligned segments.
+ Support external safety accreditation processes.
+ Facilitate safety coaching and mentoring as required.
What we're looking for:
_Must-haves:_
+ Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or other degree in related area
+ Subject matter expertise and knowledge in OSHA regulations, behavioral based safety and facilities safety
+ Previous experience in a similar managing safety role, with the expectation that the individual will have an in-depth understanding of the catering industry and a desire to explore food safety experience.
+ Have multi-site experience with the capability to fulfill role expectations within budget constraints.
+ Hold a qualification in workplace and willing to work towards food safety qualification. Must be willing to undertake additional training to fulfil role.
+ Excellent communicator with ability to solve problems, communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
+ Professional approach in dealing with complex issues with the ability to work with an eye for detail and an appreciation of confidentiality and discretion.
+ Understand the application of the regulations relevant to the company’s business.
+ Focused on delivering outstanding customer service to client’s and internal stakeholders and suppliers.
+ Be IT literate with a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programs to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
+ Able to work on own initiative but retain a strong team player approach being flexible in terms of workload and variety.

Compensation Range
$85,000-90,000/year- plus bonus opportunity
