A Snapshot of Your Day
As a CNC Vertical Boring Machine (VBM) Operator, you will
be responsible for the precise manufacturing of components using CNC VBM
machinery, ensuring adherence to safe and efficient production processes. You
will operate and monitor the VBM equipment, ensuring that all products are
produced to the highest quality standards and within specified timelines. Your
role will involve a commitment to continuous improvement initiatives, including
Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Working with minimal supervision, you will manage your own
workflow, including setting up machines, selecting appropriate tools, and
making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Set up and operate all large VBMs and performvarious machining operations on a variety of parts and components
+ Sets up and operates one or more of thefollowing:
+ CNC VBM with various control software
+ Operate machine using various tables andfixtures
+ Interpret technical drawings and GD&T;verify dimensions using precision instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, dialindicators).
+ processinspections and record measurements to maintain tolerance and surface finishrequirements.
+ guarding and PPE requirements(29 CFR 1910.212) to prevent exposure to hazards.
+ Safely handle large components using overheadcranes and forklifts per company certification standards.
+ Complete production and quality documentationaccurately.
What You Bring
+ Aminimum of 3 years of experience operating boring CNC machines with Siemensand/or FANUC controls is required.
+ HS Diploma or GED required
+ Applicants must be able to obtain and maintainFork Truck and Critical Lift (B+) level crane licenses.
+ Ability to remain in a stationary position atthe machine console and move/position to set up tooling and inspect partsthroughout the shift, reasonable accommodations available.
+ Ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs for shortdurations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
+ Ability to work with either written, oral, orgraphic instructions.
+ Proven ability to use precision gages and settooling to high accuracies, preferably on large diameters.
+ Ability to obtain an ACT® WorkKeys® NationalCareer Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher) as part of the pre-hireassessment. Siemens Energy will assist in scheduling the test uponshortlisting.
+ Successful applicants must be able to passstandard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests or any other as requiredto perform the duties.
+ · Applicants must be legally authorized foremployment in the United States without need for current or futureemployer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with currentvisa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
