The Communications Department at our Eastern Territorial Headquarters is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and motivated Internal User Experience & Systems Integration Manager to join our team. This role serves as the primary owner of the Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory’s intranet and internal digital platforms, with a focus on optimizing user experience (UX), systems integration, and strategic content delivery. This role leads the development design and management of internal digital communication tools – including but not limited to the SharePoint-based intranet (USE Portal), Digital Asset Management system (D.A.M.) and the user experience of internal-facing website platforms.
The ideal candidate will bring together digital content strategy, UX Design, analytics, and technical systems knowledge to create seamless, intuitive, and engaging digital experiences that support the territory’s mission and operational goals.
Based in West Nyack, NY this position requires approximately 35 hours of work per week and is onsite.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the development and execution of user-centric strategies for internal digital platforms, including the intranet, D.A.M., and internal websites.
+ Oversee UX/UI design, system workflows, and ongoing optimizations to ensure intuitive navigation, content discoverability, and accessibility.
+ Develop, implement, and manage the digital content strategy for The Salvation Army USA Eastern
+ Manage all aspects of SharePoint-based intranet, including architecture, design, governance, and territory-wide user engagement.
+ Update and maintain corporate-wide digital signage.
+ Serve as UX lead for the internal DAM, aligning taxonomy, tagging, and accessibility with organizational needs.
+ Direct content strategy and publication for USE-Portal, the company intranet, ensuring alignment with branding, voice, and audience needs.
+ Collaborate across departments to integrate internal systems (e.g., CRM, communications tools) and enhance user experience and data flow.
+ Implement automated analytics dashboards and reporting tools to measure engagement and inform strategy.
+ Monitor industry trends and UX best practices to drive innovation and improved performance.
+ Manage design reviews, usability testing, and feedback loops to continuously evolve digital platforms.
+ Lead content governance processes, including workflows, approvals, and compliance with legal and branding standards.
+ Train and support internal stakeholders to utilize digital systems effectively.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in communications, design, IT, or a related field; advanced training in UX/UI, web development, or systems integration a plus.
+ 5+ years of experience in digital content, UX strategy, or digital system management.
+ Strong working knowledge of SharePoint (architecture, customization, and governance).
+ Experience leading or designing within Digital Asset Management systems.
+ Technical understanding of content and system integration with CRM platforms.
+ Demonstrated ability to apply UX design principles to large-scale internal platforms.
+ Proficiency with analytics platforms and automation tools.
+ Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and modern content creation/editing tools.
+ Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
+ Experience designing and managing approval workflows for enterprise systems.
+ Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and strategic thinking abilities.
